  1. We continue to pray for you and Wade and the rest of the team! It is amazing to hear already how God has been at work in you and this whole experience. Praying you were able to get some sleep and arrive today in Guatemala safely!!!

  3. Hi mom!
I hope you drive safe and I hope you toot on the way. (Lots of giggling)
And now I have to go and tackle Mason! (Insert a whole lot more giggling!).
    Love,
    Caleb
Tara the kids are doing fantastic! If you were worried about Caleb wanting to be home and being a home body……… You can throw that out the window. He is having a ball! Taylor is gone to Gems right now and has taken over the motherly position. She has it all together and answers all Caleb’s question even for the 3rd and 4th time! Ha! Such a sweetie! We did have a bit of a loss today tho. Taylor lost an earring. 😉 It might be at Aunt Stacy’s or Mrs. Hulst said she would keep looking at school. We got her a new pair and all has been forgotten. The kids had a snow day Tuesday. So enjoy your warmer weather! Things are great here. Your kids are even better! Enjoy your time in Guat and the amazing opportunity to draw even closer to God! Praying for you and Wade often!
    At his feet,
    Wendy

    • Thanks Wendy!!! So glad all went well there. Can’t wait to hear about it all when we get back!!! This trip is amazing!!! I think of you guys often while down here. We definitely need to get the youth down here… 🙂

  4. Tara,
I found out on facebook from my old high school friend, that you went with the group mfrom his church! What a small world!

We, Dawn and I, are praying for you guys down there. You are going to be amazed and really touched by all you do, say, and see down there! The kids there really appreciate the little things in life. We can’t wait to hear all about it!

  5. Just wanted to share that I was listening to WJQ a few minutes ago and they had a prayer for all of you as you dedicate the homes this morning. How cool that people all over MI are praying for you and the families there right now as you dedicate these homes!!! Prayer is a powerful thing!!!!

  6. Can’t wait to read your posts when you get back to base!! Hoping you didn’t miss too much of the building experience – sounded like you were there for “stucco” day (one of the many highlights) of my trip down there last year. You are not missing much back home as far as weather goes…just more cold rainy/snowy weather. My boys can hardly wait for your kids to come tomorrow! Dani is going to stay overnight Fri. night and hang out most of the day Saturday too!! So her and Taylor can have some “girl” time… we got a little girly craft for them to do. Get some rest when you can, I know how late the nights get and how early everyone gets up again. We’ll continue to pray for you, Wade and your group the rest of the week…for safety, good health, and hearts that will be filled as you pour yourselves into the lives of the beautiful Guatemalan people!!! I will have the kids post tomorrow night so you know how they’re doing, but from the sounds of it they are doing great!! Nicole

    • Nicole! Thank you for everything and tell Corla thank you too for letting Taylor have Dani to hang out with! This trip is amazing and can’t wait to share all about it!

    • Yes…we made it, but the computers are tied up a lot. We are all doing well here. Gabe is the happiest I personally have ever seen him. We are healthy but there are some who are sick so pray for them. We have to gather stuff for our day now, but will blog more tonight or tomorrow as the time allows and will help dad do so as well. We are having a great time. Dad says he loves you and happy anniversary too!!! ❤

      • Thank you For that it means the world to me. God Bless you.. Be Safe and please give Gabe a Hug from Mom

  7. This trip has been AMAZING!!! We finally arrived in Guatemala Tuesday afternoon and missed the first day of building. We didn’t miss stucco day…good thing because that was a ton of fun. Tom Schipper…if you are reading this Psalm 46:1 was the verse we painted on their wall. You put that Psalm on our hearts, and you have no idea how appropriate it was for this family and the mother agreed. Single mom of 5 kids, her husband passed away 5 years ago, and her oldest son (family provider) has an infection after surgery and isn’t doing well. This family needs a ton of prayers. Every person received Christ yesterday which was amazing. So many sightings to list, but I am keeping a journal here to remember and can share more when I get back. Keep praying…the next two days we have clinics, and I may be sharing my testimony either tonight and/or tomorrow. Public speaking isn’t my thing, but am feeling God tugging at me to do Allison Schneider if you are reading this…Anya is driving and she is doing well! I survived a trip to San Ramon to LaReyna to base with her driving. Wade drove on of the other vans. So much to share, but I better share the computer with others. Will write more tomorrow.

Taylor & Caleb…love and miss you guys so much. Glad you got to have a snow day at Cassidy, Nate & Matt’s house…so fun. So glad to hear you guys are doing well. We are praying for you and can’t wait to tell you all about this trip. Feel a big hug and kiss and skerbert coming at you from us!!!! Can’t wait to hear about your fun times. Have fun at Clayton & Dylan’s house and I hear Dani is coming too! Yea! Love you both.

  8. Praying for you How exciting that you get to be on this trip with your dad! I got to go 2years ago with him and he just melted my heart which in return brought Val into my life and now your parents are so very special to me and my fam!!!!! I got to hear your dad give his testimony and it was amazing! How exciting/nerve-racking that God is nudging you to share your testimony! I am sure it is going to be just what some of the people need to hear!!

  9. Hello again – I’m just posting to let you know the kids are doing great!! Taylor & Daisy played with Daisy’s old American Girl dolls and Barbies, plus us girls baked some cupcakes…which we enjoyed after supper. Dani is coming over in the morning, a little change in plans. Caleb and my boys have been playing cars, swords, some Wii games and now the whole gang is watching Despicable Me 2. Wendy said Taylor was feeling a little tired at school today and she thought she was getting sick, but it sounds like she had a little rest time at school and she’s been good to go since she’s been at our house!! Now that the weekends here… she can rest up and sleep in (I didn’t tell her I was going to post tonight) in case she’s missing you too – which I’m sure is part of her feeling a little under the weather today. Praying your med. clinic is going well & hope you get a chance to share your testimony!! Maybe the kids will post tomorrow. Was thinking of taking them somewhere fun tomorrow night. Enjoy your last couple days in Guat!!

  10. Hi Tara — So glad that you are a part of this team. Keep living and sharing The Story of God! You are mighty! – Pastor Jim

  11. Hey Tara, sounds like things are going well, and you are having an amazing time. I have been doing a lot of praying for you all down there. Can’t wait to hear all about it when you get back. Hope you have an amazing rest of the trip and don’t forget to take some pictures of Dulce for me:) Nate

  12. Tara–Keep looking after your dad and little brother. I trust you are having a wonderful time. Keep up the good work, enjoy your last medical clinic. Know that there are many people praying for you and the team. Can’t wait to hear your stories when you get back.

  13. Hey everyone! We are doing well here! Sounds like the people who were sick are feeling better and haven’t shared it with anyone else! Thank you Lord!!! Anyway…doing great here. Had some AMAZING God sightings yesterday. Jenny if you read this you will have to hear about the audio scripture thing…God had something in mind way back last summer at your garage sale when we met that man who got us connected with those. The computers have been tied up so I haven’t had time to post, and now we have to get ready for our last clinic. Please be in prayer for us as we go out today. This will be a larger clinic than yesterday, as well as it will be one Paradise Bound has never visited. These may very well be unreached people, so be in major prayer today/tonight. When I get back home I will recap the whole trip on Facebook. I didn’t share my testimony yesterday…it wasn’t necessary. God had other people in mind yesterday that needed to come forward. Not sure if I will tonight either, we will see where God leads it, but regardless I am willing if He tells me to. Can’t wait to get back but at the same time I will be sad to leave here. And Nate…we got some pics of Dulce for you! Anyway…rambling…but NIcole give our kids extra hugs & kisses & if you are brave skerberts too from us. Can’t wait to see them. Tell them we love them! And we love and thank you all that are backing us up in prayer and caring for our kids/house/dogs! ❤

  14. Praying for you all. Wish I could have gone with you. ❤ God's plans are great in the midst of everything! Can't wait to hear all the stories and see pics. Travel safely back home. Love you!

  15. Hey everyone! Yesterday was another AMAZING day! God used us in a way we didn’t expect. In fact this whole trip has been filled with lots of unexpected twists and turns. God had His plans and He moved us where He needed us to be. The village we were supposed to do a medical clinic had last minute reservation from the elder of the village, so we were not allowed to go in. So God moved us to another village, and I can pretty much say everyone (short of a couple young kids we were too busy playing) accepted Christ!!! When the night was done we knew where God wanted us to be. I have so many stories to share, but there are people waiting for the computer.

I can’t wait to be home and see my kiddos! Nicole I hope Taylor is feeling better! Give both kids a squeeze for us! We miss them and now that our work is pretty much done, we want to get home. Be in prayer for 2 children that came to the orphanage last night…a 5 year old girl and her 1 year old sister. I just visited them, and Wade helped the one year old go to sleep. It was a traumatic night for them, but the 5 year old is busy playing with the toys now. Nate…just got done playing with Dulce…she is such a sweetie and is tolerating her cast well. Anyway…heading to Antigua today and will be seeing the sights and shopping there. We leave base here around 2 or 3 tomorrow morning, so it will be an early day. Please pray we all arrive TOGETHER (ha ha) in GRR at dinner time! Love to you all, and please continue to pray for us and the people we are coming into contact with here.

  16. Hi Tara and Wade, sounds like some amazing work that God is doing thru you and your teams, praying for a fun day today and safe travels that everyone can be on the same plane!! (From Caleb) – “I hope you had fun, I hope your plane was safe. I hope some people don’t have to eat garbage because they don’t have money to buy food. We got to see the Lego movie. I went snowboarding and I did awesome (Dylan said he was good too) and I love you” From Taylor “I went snowboarding; Dani came to play with us; Dani and I went sledding down a big hill and it went zoom really fast and it was bumpy and we bumped up. I hope you are having fun and Love you. I found $1.05 in loose change on the floor in the living room. I found $2.05 and gave everyone a quarter for a gum ball at PizzaHut. We made a tunnel outside in the snow and we were going down to the ground and went straight and kept turning but ran into too much ice and it got dark.” (As told to Ross). Take care and God Bless!!!

    • Thanks for the update!!! We sure miss our kiddos! We are now ready to come home now that our work is done, but first need to go to Antigua to buy presents for Taylor & Caleb today!!! 😉
